Water Reuse

Where should a factory begin with water reuse?

The best first step is not selecting equipment, but understanding how water moves through the facility.

Short answer

Water reuse begins by separating water flows instead of treating all incoming and outgoing water as a single total. Each stream has a different quality, volume and level of consistency.

Start with a water map

How much water does each process use? Where is water used only for cooling or washing? Which flows are easier to recover before they mix? The answers shape the investment.

Does every stream need the highest possible quality?

No. Recovered-water quality should match its next use. Irrigation, washing, cooling and process feed do not require the same standard. Overtreatment can add unnecessary energy and operating cost.

Why is a small start valuable?

Starting with a measurable stream allows the team to learn from real data. A successful pilot provides a safer basis for the next investment decision.
